Two years ago when salon owner Joanne Rempel embarked on a major weight loss program she discovered something disturbing -her body contained abnormally high amounts of lead.
Joanne knew that years of working with toxic hair products had taken their toll on her health, but worse, the whole industry was polluted with products harmful to humans and the environment.
She also knew that while she may not be able to influence the beauty industry globally, she could do something locally in her own salon.
That seed of change has blossomed into a new way of doing business that respects the well-being of her guests, her team and Mother Earth.
